School Bus Incidents on February 16th, 2009

These 2 incidents were reported on the same day by concerned parents. The evening incident involved an over length vehicle. The following restriction comes from the blanket permit required for over length trucks: School Bus Hours – No travel allowed Monday through Friday on two lane highways for escorted vehicles from 7 AM to 9 AM and 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM from August 27, 2007 through June 9, 2008.

Over length truck that will meet bus in turn at Friendship Lane.

Speed measurement of truck that met bus earlier. The truck
was running at 35 MPH in the blind turn. The speed limit is
35 MPH for this section of road. The truck in not over length.
The truck is carrying chemicals and is part of a 4 truck convoy.
He is going into the turn on the wrong side of the road. The
remainder of the convoy was also on the wrong side of the road.
